Test your knowledge

1. Can family members ask to see their records at any time?

2. What about all the files kept elsewhere: are family members allowed to see them as well?

3. How long is the department given to get the file/s ready?

4. Can one adult family member see the recorded information about another adult family member?

5. Can an adult see information about a young person?

6. Can a young person see information about an adult family member? Can they see information about themselves?

7. Can family members ask for copies of records?

8. Under what circumstances can access be refused? Do they have a right of appeal?

9. What if family members ask you to change what is in the file?

10. Can you share records as you go along, in other words without waiting for a family member to make a formal request to see the file?
