Background

Karen Douglas (27) approached social services six months ago because she was having difficulty in caring for her son Alan (3 years). Alan has been diagnosed with moderate autism. Following a core assessment social services arranged a sponsored day care place for Alan and also agreed that he could have respite care fostering one weekend a month.
