Video exercises
Introduction
The CD version of Write Enough has a series of exercises
based on four short video clips. For technical reasons these
are not available on the Internet version of the training
materials. However, if your authority has an Intranet, your
Training Section may have arranged for the CD version of Write Enough to be installed on it. If this has been done then it
should be possible to access the video exercises through the
Intranet.
The video clips have been selected to show a range of different
practice situations, each of which presents a particular challenge
for recording. Of course no video can fully portray the complexity
of real life situations. In practice professional judgements
are made on the basis of a wide range of information, not
simply what we see and hear. However, the video clips do highlight
some of the dilemmas which practitioners may face in their
day to day practice.
Although the video clips may not reflect your individual
practice situation, for example there is no clip of children
in a day care setting, practitioners are encouraged to try
each of the recording exercises. The principles of effective
recording are the same no matter what the practice setting.
